Meet Dr. Rob Dickerman, DO, PhD, FACOS

Credentials

Dr. Dickerman is one of a few neurosurgeons who was granted a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health under world-renown Dr. Ed Oldfield. After his neurosurgical residency at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Hospital in New York, Dr. Dickerman went on to  complete a complex spine fellowship at the Texas Back Institute. Dr. Dickerman has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and has been publishing peer-reviewed articles throughout his career. He specializes in brain cancer, traumatic brain injury and spinal disorders. Dr. Dickerman has two active collaborative research labs working on Glioblastoma (brain cancer) and traumatic brain injury. These labs have helped advance the treatments while also training medical and graduate students.  Dr. Dickerman is adjunct faculty at several medical schools and believes in sharing his expertise and training with medical/graduate students, residents and fellows. Dr. Dickerman is currently participating in an upcoming clinical trial on severe traumatic brain injury and collaborates with a team of traumatic brain injury experts.

Research has led to several US government issued patents which have helped advance spine surgery and treatments for traumatic brain injury.
