Help With Dallas Spine Pain

Millions of people live in the Dallas Fort Worth area and one of the more common problems that they experience is a difficulty with spine pain. Sometimes, it may be experience in the upper spine, such as when they are in an automobile accident. A more common issue, however, is for the lower spine to experience problems. It really doesn’t matter how you are experiencing this problem, finding a solution is what if likely foremost on your mind.

Lower spine problems are so common that it is one of the top reasons why people miss work. That being said, some people have the problem until they are able to rest the area and recover but at other times it can be chronic and life altering. When that is the problem you are experiencing, you need help from a competent spine doctor. They can really make a difference in the type of treatment you receive and how successful you will be in overcoming the problem.

Some of the problems that can lead to spine pain are due to injury. One of the ways that this may be seen is when you lift something the wrong way. It can quickly lead to the problem with pain and if you don’t handle things properly, you could have that pain for many years.

At other times, the problem may be more of an issue with aging and illness. This is fairly common and as we get older, we do tend to have more problems with our health. The bones become softer, leading to the possibility for spinal fractures.

Of course, there are often specific problems that could cause you to experience spinal pain. These issues are beyond the problems that could have led to the injury, they are the specific thing that is going on with the spine that is leading to the problem. Here are some of those issues for your consideration.

Problems Handled By A Spine Doctor

Herniated Disc – The spine is made up of a series of bones, known as vertebrae. Between each of the vertebrae is a small, disc like object that helps to protect the vertebrae and allows for their free movement.

Sometimes, the disc is damaged in some way or another and when this happens, it could irritate a nearby nerve. This is a very common problem that leads to spine pain in the Dallas area and many other areas as well.

Degenerative Disc Disease – This is similar to a herniated disc but it is different because it occurs as we get older due to a gradual breakdown of the discs. It is referred to as a disease but in reality, it isn’t a disease at all. When the discs become damaged, it could lead to back pain.

Broken Back – Believe it or not, this is a very common issue. Vertebrae could become cracked during an accident or sometimes, even if we move the wrong way. It is a problem that is typically very painful and a surgical procedure is often needed to correct the problem.

A problem with a broken back is more likely to occur when we get older. One of the problems we may experience as we age is a deterioration of our bones, known as osteoporosis. When our vertebrae become brittle, they are more likely to break.

Sciatica – This is not really a spine problem but rather, it is a symptom of a spine problem. It involves our sciatic nerve, which runs through our lower back and down both legs. When that nerve is pinched or irritated, it can lead to a number of problems. This includes pain, numbness and tingling in the lower back and the legs.
